Up for a challenge? – Board Feature
Krystele Chavez here. As a board director for People of Grace International Foundation, I really wanted to say hello and share with you why I choose to continue to support this organization amid my full and busy life.
How often do you start the day with a promise to do something for yourself – errands, exercise, you name it—only to realize that you ran out of time and didn’t do it?
I find that I can be amazingly efficient when there’s something truly meaningful waiting for me to do at the end of the day. Knowing that I’ve made a commitment to someone or something other than myself often gives me the drive to work harder, faster, better.
Dedicating time to sit on the board of directors for People of Grace International Foundation and to support this cause by providing strategic guidance and communications and advocacy efforts has been richly rewarding. It’s helped me expand my network and engage with those within my community and beyond in a unique way. Instead of thinking of it as something that I don’t have time to do, I consider it as something I can’t afford not to do.
People of Grace International Foundation alleviates poverty by providing quality education to those in marginalized communities. We work to open doors of opportunity to underprivileged children across the world, and it’s incredibly inspiring to see people like you come together to accomplish something that no one person could do on their own.
I dream that one day, every child and youth will have the opportunity to fulfill their God-given destiny.
This summer, our goal is to raise $10,000 for our international field outreaches, which enable us to impact marginalized communities and provide ongoing care, support and opportunities for life change. We are currently at 75% of our goal.
You have been engaged with our work for a while now, and we’re so thankful.

Krystele Chavez lives and works in San Francisco, California with her husband and son. She leads HR communications at Silicon Valley Bank, where she informs, engages and inspires their global workforce of 16,000+ team members at a company whose purpose is to fuel innovation for a better world. Krystele has been a board director for People of Grace International Foundation since 2019.
