History
People of Grace International (POGI) was birthed out of a need to make quality education more accessible in the Philippines.
Buenavida Tupe, the founder of POGI, witnessed the poverty alleviation and life transformation brought about by quality education at People of Grace Christian School in Quezon City, Philippines, where she used to work. She was discouraged by the financial hurdle of providing this quality education to the neediest kids from areas like Makati Cemetery.
She had also led teams from People of Grace to teach kids in Cambodia, Vietnam, India, and other places where so many children are in need of a way out of destitution. As a result, when she moved to British Columbia she worked to remove the hurdle of a lack of funding by joining International Christian Mission Services (ICMS), a registered charity in the United States and Canada, under the name People of Grace International.
POGI was launched in British Columbia, Canada, on November 21, 2015. From then on, POGI has been supporting students in the Philippines, India, and the Middle East. POGI has also supported relief efforts in these countries and is currently helping build a school and centre in the Philippines.
People of Grace International complies with CRA guidelines for non-profits through our relationship with International Christian Mission Services (ICMS). ICMS has direction and control of the resources donated to ICMS on behalf of our ministry and holds us accountable for the work we do.
