Student Feature: Kassandra
At our recent gala, we gave an update on Kassandra who has been with People of Grace since she was a little girl.
During our 2009 outreach at their slum area, she had asked to study at People of Grace Christian School, so we offered her a full scholarship. She graduated from our senior high program in 2022 with the dream to become a nurse and to help her mom take care of their family needs. Kassandra is now a second year nursing student and is learning maternal and newborn care this semester!
Stories of hope like hers remind us of the importance of building lives and alleviating poverty through education. Having a safe and conducive space that enables one to dream and build resilience to thrive in this world makes that even more possible! That’s why we are persistent in finishing our biggest project of a school and center in the Philippines.
People of Grace International is almost at 30% of our year-end goal to share $35,000 in the $250,000 (CAD) need to complete Phase 1 of this project.
